I wear short shorts!
Yes, since NYC is like a boiling pot of heat and humidity my main zone of being comfortable while walking the blazing sidewalks have been my short shorts. Granted my shorts are not that short but it's appropriate for school and other places that I go. Shorts have come a long way since playing in the sandbox as a child to now with the right length and cut can transfer to the office work space. Above are my favorite inspirations to get me through this stifling heat wave.

I love short shorts =) At least you have a valid reason to wear shorts over there, I try and justify wearing shorts in the rain with tights and boots!

I agree with Mariel...the Yigal look is very cute. Good for the runway because of the low cut on the shirt..but simply buttoning the shirt or adding a thin layer underneath it will make it good to wear out. Short dresses are fab but shorts are almost better because you have more options with shorts because you are forced to wear a shirt with them. :)
Short dresses are great but they are expected. On the other hand, a pair of short shorts always leaves you wanting more. I especially like the shorts in the Tracey Reece collection--they are so colorful. Ungaro and Rodarte are great with color too.
